Youth Empowered in Peacebuilding at Three-Day Workshop

Peshawar: A three-day workshop aimed at strengthening the role of youth in fostering peace in the merged districts concluded in Peshawar. The event, held at a local hotel, was a collaborative effort by Safer International, UNODC, TYA and NACTA under the "Hum Pakistan" initiative. The workshop attracted a large number of youth participants from the newly merged districts.

The workshop focused on equipping participants with modern strategies to promote peace, resolve conflicts, and establish social harmony. Through a series of interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, the youth were trained in leadership, emotional intelligence, positive narrative building, ethics of disagreement, social welfare, and leveraging social media for social action plans.

Prominent speakers, including Maulana Ghulam Hussain Murtaza, Muhammad Hussain, Dr. Aamir Raza, and Muhammad Israr Madni, addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of youth as agents of positive change. They emphasized the critical role young individuals can play in building a peaceful and progressive society, particularly in the sensitive context of the merged districts.

In the closing session, Dr. Qibla Ayaz and Muhammad Ayah underscored that youth are the true assets of any nation. They urged participants to actively contribute to peacebuilding efforts in their communities and to lead by example.

Participants praised the initiative, acknowledging its role in enhancing their skills and preparing them for leadership roles in their communities. Representatives from the merged districts expressed their commitment to organizing similar programs in the future to ensure sustainable peace and development in the region.
